Some concavity properties for general integral operators

Let $C_0(alpha)$ denote the class of concave univalent functions defined in the open unit disk $mathbb{D}$. Each function $f in C_{0}(alpha)$ maps the unit disk $mathbb{D}$ onto the complement of an unbounded convex set. In this paper, we study the mapping properties of this class under integral operators.

On Monotonic Solutions of Some Integral Equations

Integral equations arise naturally in applications of real world problems [5, 6, 7, 8]. The theory of integral equations has been well developed with the help of various tools from functional analysis, topology and fixed-point theory. The classical theory of integral equations can be generalized if one uses the Stieltjes integral with kernels dependent on one or two variables. The aim of this p...

Some Integral Equations with Nonsymmetric Separable Kernels*

Absbact. It is shown that the eigeovalues and eigenfunctions for the class of "separable" or "semidegenerate" kernels can be determined from the solution of a linear differential equation, which is usually more amenable to machine solution. The theory is extended to solve a simultaneous diagonalization problem for two separable kernels. Finally, some new connections are obtained between Riccati...

On Learning with Integral Operators

A large number of learning algorithms, for example, spectral clustering, kernel Principal Components Analysis and many manifold methods are based on estimating eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of operators defined by a similarity function or a kernel, given empirical data. Thus for the analysis of algorithms, it is an important problem to be able to assess the quality of such approximations. The ...

Observation Operators for Evolutionary Integral Equations

We analyze admissibility and exactness of observation operators arising in control theory for Volterra integral equations. We give a necessary and sufficient criterion for an unbounded observation operator to map a solution into L2. We then discuss the Hautus Lemma, giving a partial result and an example where it fails.
